Phase I of the St. Matthews Streetscape project is now complete. As you stroll through town you will notice the new trees and shrubbery, new sidewalk and parking configurations, as well at the new clock, new decorative lights, stamped crosswalks, and engraved bricks. Across the street from the clock is a working water pump and trough. These new additions give the downtown area a cleaner, more pedestrian friendly feel. We are so pleased with the transformation thus far. Thanks to everyone involved with this project.

Adopt – A – Highway Clean Up Held August 7, 2008

SMART participated in one of its many Town Clean-Up events recently. Several bags of trash were collected from along downtown streets. Also, some weed removal and grass cutting was performed. This hard work goes a long way towards making the St. Matthews downtown area more attractive. Good work, Team!

SMART is a Tri-County Round-Up Grant Recipient

The St. Matthews Area Revitalization Team (SMART) was recently awarded a Tri-County Electric Co-Operative Round-Up Grant in the amount of $5,000. This money will be used towards children’s playgrounds in the St. Matthews area. Thanks to Tri-County Electric Co-Operative.
